Here I am creating a cake for my daughters Kindergarten class.

1st I started by setting up and icing the cake. I used her class picture to get my inspiration. I always prepare my colors first. Then I drew the heads.

2nd step. I decided where the kids and teachers would be standing and drew in the uniforms and hair.

3rd step. Black piping gel! It comes out of the bags smooth and with fluidity. I don't like to make a drawing without it.

4th step. Details! Adding smiles, lips, eyes and writing. Oh and I could not forget Mrs. K's socks!
VOILA!!

Happy Memorial Day 2011!! The un-official start of summer. The stars and stripes speak for themselves. These are vanilla buttercream tier cakes and cupcake cakes. Made with whole grain cake. Don't let the "whole grain" fool you. They are a healthy alternative and taste SO yummy!

My sister-in-law came up with the theme for our daughters' 2nd birthday party. Barnyard! The cake was a big hit and the birthday girls got a nice sugar-high! The cake was chocolate chip, iced with buttercream. The barn and surrounding animals were sculpted from fondant.

I am back! After a move across country here is the first cake I made in Cali. This one was for my friends daughter Charlie. It was a vanilla cake with buttercream icing. I kept it simple for the little one. She ended up wearing most of it. Happy birthday Charlie Kate!

Happy 1st Birthday Reid! The little slugger got this half vanilla and half chocolate cake with chocolate chip filling for his party. The Phanatic was there to send his best wishes!

This party was at a tea room so naturally a teapot seemed like a good idea for the cake. The birthday girl was very pleased. She came back to the bakery the following day to thank me!
