My sister-in-law came up with the theme for our daughters' 2nd birthday party. Barnyard! The cake was a big hit and the birthday girls got a nice sugar-high! The cake was chocolate chip, iced with buttercream. The barn and surrounding animals were sculpted from fondant.

I am back! After a move across country here is the first cake I made in Cali. This one was for my friends daughter Charlie. It was a vanilla cake with buttercream icing. I kept it simple for the little one. She ended up wearing most of it. Happy birthday Charlie Kate!

Happy 1st Birthday Reid! The little slugger got this half vanilla and half chocolate cake with chocolate chip filling for his party. The Phanatic was there to send his best wishes!

This party was at a tea room so naturally a teapot seemed like a good idea for the cake. The birthday girl was very pleased. She came back to the bakery the following day to thank me!

Pup-cups!

Ariel is the most mischievous of all the princesses and my personal favorite!

Horses and princesses. They can be frightening words to a decorator! Although the concept seems simple and something a decorator would do on a regular basis, they are quite challenging. If you make the eyes on a princess just a bit too close they can look cross eyed. If you make a horses legs a little too short it could pass for a dog (OH those long legs!) Or if the ears are too big, it looks like a Donkey!! The small details can make or break a cake.

A "Car nut" and a dog lover. This cake was made for a 40th birthday party. A silver 1966 Mustang and a Rottweiler was the request. The birthday boy was impressed which made me happy. There are a lot of details that go into a front end of a car like that! (My husband gave me some tips). The car was made completely out of buttercream and the dog was sculpted out of fondant.

So many parties, so many themes!!

Sesame Street has been a children's favorite for years and has definitely been the subject of a majority of my character cakes. This is a classic with four of the characters drawn on the sides of the cake while Elmo fittingly sits on top ( he does reign in popularity).

The bottom tier was chocolate and the top tier vanilla, iced with buttercream.

Cupcakes!!!

I recently returned to Colonial Farms in Washington Crossing, PA. It's a great bakery and deli and I am so happy to be back. It feels like home. These are just a few of the cakes I've done in the last two weeks at this busy store. I am looking forward to my future here, the possibilities (and orders) are limitless.

Check out the pretty flowers growing in my backyard. The only problem is I can't remember what they are called?! I am on a quest to find out...

Happy Cinco De Mayo!! I made this cake for a first birthday party with a Mexican theme. The sombrero cake was half vanilla and half chocolate with vanilla buttercream filling and frosting. The little cupcakes were decorated with serapes, maracas and tacos made of fondant. Ole!

Happy Birthday Sally! This was made for a friend of mine who is a hairdresser. I gave her scissors and jewelry a little sparkle with shimmery silver dust. She is standing on top of her favorite cake, vanilla, with fresh whipped cream and strawberries.

DJ Sizzle you still got it!!! I never actually met the man but I did make his cake for him. This was for a surprise 60th birthday. Most of the cake was made out of buttercream with the details in fondant.

You never know where a person will get their inspiration from. The song from a bird, the sunlight at dusk, a famous painting, whatever inspires you, so be it. This person was taken by a single piece of tile. Can you see it? On your kitchen wall or bathroom. Where ever it comes from, it's a Good Thing!

My gardening season has began. I can't wait to get out there and start digging, planting and designing!

I dedicate this cake to my niece Grace out in California who I love so much but I'm going to miss her birthday. Happy Birthday Grace! I would have made this for you if I was there. Everything on this cake is made out of fondant. I wanted to practice making some flowers because it is spring time and my rose bushes are giving me some inspiration.

Peep, peep, peep! What says Easter more than a mother chick and her cute little babies?! Of course I couldn't forget a visit from the Easter bunny too. Spring is my favorite time of year. The weather is warmer, the flowers are blooming, and the birds are making lovely music. HAPPY EASTER TO ALL!!
